Serengeti
Another long travel day to the Serengeti, "endless plains"... well named. Our route took us up and around Ngorongoro Crater, gorgeous landscape. But we will be returning there later. We drove across the plains of the Serengeti, on high alert for animal activity. A pair of courting lions, 4 lionesses on the prowl, zebras cautiously approaching the waterhole, a cheetah, some cool birds. We are at Katikati Camp, a real bush camp... still glamping, mind you, as we still have private toilets, hot water for bush shower on request, chef to cook the meals, and escorts to keep us safe in this unfenced tent camp. Absolutely beautiful place. I could sit here a long time!
