We left Lenoir City, TN in the rearview mirror at 8:00am EST.
We drove past the cities of Nashville TN, Paducah KY, St Louis MO, Kansas City, MO.
We saw lots of cornfields and soybeans.
We discovered that drafting behind a big truck truly does make a difference in gas mileage.
We ate supper outside at Bandana's BBQ - "smell the smoke" - in Columbia MO, two hours east of Kansas City. It was there that we had our first sighting of Mississippi Kites.
At 10:30pm CST, after 13 hours of driving time, we stopped for the night in Lawrence, Kansas.
